Windows 2000/XP Topics & Behaviors Remarks : At the conclusion of this one-day workshop, participants will be expected to demonstrate the following behaviors: Generally Overview of Windows, ‘Desktop’, Icons and all that, Properties of Desktop, folders on the Desktop, creating such, moving icon into folders - Opening & closing a program, move, size, maximize and minimize a program group - Open several application groups, move between applications, - The right mouse button and its use/purposes, such as Tile Horizontal etc. Opening/Closing/Saving Generally possess a beginner level knowledge relating to the creation of a document in Word and/or Excel using minimal formats such as bold, underline and italics and, - Be able to block text, do simple formatting, as well as copy and move text - Create, save and retrieve files using the File options, brief overview of folders etc
Accessories Generally posses a beginner level knowledge of:
Explorer (ie. File Manager) Demonstrate a working knowledge of the file explorer facility to format a disk, how to make a disk bootable, move between drives &… - Create and name folders/directories, move between folders, - Demonstrate appropriate use of the View menu options - Select files, copy files to/from various drives and folders - Rename files and folders, delete and undelete files and folders - Changing file properties, read only files etc.
Find ing Files Demonstrate basic knowledge/skill relation to: - Find a file in a specified drive, parameters etc - Using date/time/file size/text search criteria to find a file Control Panel Demonstrate a beginner level knowledge and skill relation to: - Display: Changing screen colors, changing desktop attributes, wallpaper etc. - Mouse: Know how to change the mouse settings; - Regional Settings & uses, why its importance - Overview of the Date/Time facility etc. System Functions (Time Permitting) Generally posses a beginner level knowledge of - The Scandisk facility, Backup files & Folders, Defrayment a drive etc
