Day #2 Overview of Topics/Behaviors
Remarks : The second day of this course will focus primarily on the more programmable features of Access. This includes such topics as macros, creating a switchboard, auto execute macro etc. Below is an outline of the topics to be addressed:

Further Review of Tables & Forms, Adding Buttons
- Overview of table design, primary fields and their use;
- Overview of the Lookup feature;
- More on formulas, special formulas, formula editor and expression builder;
- More about option buttons, OLE and pictures;
- overview of the linking feature, linking tables & forms;
- strategies vis a vis database design and linking tables;
- further aspects of the Query facility, Delete, Update, Make table & Append Query;
- strategic use of Queries, merging tables, making new tables;
- join, intersect and other features;
- Cross-Tab/Pivot tables
Reports:
- Further on reports, linking & embedding sub reports;
Buttons and Macros:
- creating & using macros, putting macros on toolbars and forms;
- brief introduction to Visual Basic and its function/use in creating/using buttons;
- auto execute Macro and its strategic use;
- creating and use a switchboard, overview of switchboard items
- creating custom applications;
Exporting & Importing to/from Excel & Word;
Customizing Access
- putting macros on toolbars;
